Understanding Display Appliances
![]() |
A Display Appliance refers to the hardware that is used to run a live display. It's really just a fancy name for an Internet-connected computer and a screen. You can purchase a new computer or re-purpose one you already own. For a screen you could use a widescreen monitor, an HDTV with a computer interface, or an old-school CRT computer monitor. ScreenScape Displays will look good on screens that use today's most popular aspect ratios (16:10 LCD, 16:9 HDTV, 4:3 CRT) at any resolution. |
What kind of software do I need?
ScreenScape screen displays are presented using a standard web browser. This means it doesn't matter what operating system your computer uses. ScreenScape recommends Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari. Your web browser must have the most recent free Adobe Flash Player installed.
What kind of internet connection?
ScreenScape performs well using either of today's two leading high speed connections, cable and DSL.
